REALLLLLLLYYYYYYY Hugeeee Postt!!!!!!!! - from language camp (Sorry . . . )

“Waste all your time fixing all the problems you made in your own head”

-Mumford and sons

Right now I find myself sitting alone in my room at language camp thinking is this all real?...

I don’t know why I am here... Is it because I chased what I truly wanted? Or is it because I was running away from what could have been?...

Well option one: I think that, I am the luckiest person on earth to be here in this beautiful country with this gorgeous snow and kind people but right now because I wanted this so bad and I finally got want I wanted. Is it selfish? Yes, but I hope that you understand...

Maybe hard to believe but, I actually miss the sun and vegemite and Milo and it hasn’t even been two weeks...

Now, the other option... : Well yes, that is also true. But it is also true that if I hadn’t left then things could have got worse. Some people say ‘Why? Why leave everything you have done for the last 15 years of your life for someone who you have never met or a country that you hardly know anything about...’ But really, the people who ask this question always know the answer... The answer is, yes. I know it’s going to be scary, I know its going to be different and I will get homesick and I will get angry. But, 12 months is a long time and the whole time is full of different emotions. I don’t know what will happen in the future, no. But I do know that whatever happens creates a path for me, for my life and I am in control of that. And maybe, just maybe, when I get back I will know what to do. I will be more independent and more important I will be able to trust myself...

Right now I am in such a mood that I am listening to Making April. They somehow give me a sense of reason.

Now, I guess I should stop with the rambling on about my feelings and tell you what I have been doing in this winter wonderland.

Well, I started school on Wednesday and wow that was one thing. I understood nothing in class. It was just a bunch of letters that made no sense in my head. I know can do some maths I guess and drama is sooooo much fun but the rest is all really just a blur... I started school at 8:10!!! Ahh! Painful, quite painful.

I haven’t actually really had bad jetlag, I don’t think... :S I just get tired at about 9pm and I did find myself waking up at like 5am and not getting back to sleep because 5am here is equivilant to 3pm Australian time... But I got over it after a few days.

Thursday wasn’t to interesting, Fillip was meant to come down to visit but the weather has been insane. Snowing heaps.

I was quite lucky because class finished at like 1! So went home and just chilled for the rest of the day. I was pretty excited because two of my friends, Ana and Annika, invited me to this thing mostly Swedish kids do, called ‘Pulka’ which is pretty much tobogganing. J

Friday! School, School, School... Don’t understand much but damn its interesting sometimes... LUCKILY our 2nd science class was cancelled! Yippee! So Ana and I went back to her house for a little and had a nice long talk about anything and everything. J When Annika got out of school we trotted around to her place and I had the BEST hot chocolate in a long long time. After that, we where ready to go! Bring it on Pulka!!! J We took some pretty ‘lol’ pictures and went off to the hill we would ride on. I *gasped* when I saw it. But when we ran up they showed me how to do it (so I don’t break my spine or poke my eye out.)

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! Firstly we went down on the two person pulka then we decided to try the ice slide with the little bottom pad like thing, WOW! That was sooooo ultimately awesome. You go so fast and its so much fun! We eventually decided to go back because it was freezing and we were all wet from the snow. But, we couldn’t help ourselves but to make snow angels and take a few more awesome photos J We had some tea and talked and then I was off back home and soon to bed. Saturday was a quite eventful day! In the morning Gustav decided to take me downhill skiing, and I’m not going to lie. I was shitting myself. I was SOOOOO scared!!! But he assured me that it would be fine and he will teach me so I asked him to promise not to laugh when I fall but he declined... I got all dressed in my gear, went down to the slopes ready, put my skies on but they wouldn’t click! So I decided we should go home... haha nah, we stayed and just had to force it in the shoe. We went to the baby slope and Marita and Gustav where making sure I didn’t slip away and teaching me what to do (Ice cream cone/pizza slice) to slow down, turn ect... Then after doing a little it was time to go up to the top of the baby hill on the really Ouchy/pulley lift to the top. Gustav got up there and told me to just go slow and follow him until I was comfortable. The first time I nearly went through the fence but Marita and Gustav caught me J haha Then I did it!!! It was so much fun! So I went up and did it again getting faster and faster each time. J Then could eventually go around the cones.

Saturday afternoon I had a Rotary thing on, all the exchange students in my district where going ‘curling’ (google it... J) And thanks to Lydia (My 2nd host family, host sister whom I am going to go see Kent in concert with!!! J J J!!!! YESS!!!!.) who had told me that its really dangerous coz you slip over on the ice! :S It turned out just like bowls that pop does but on ice and the bowls are 20kg... We played a few games and met some different exchange students which was good. We had dinner and then went to the after party! J We played a heap of music and found out how really talented Canadians are at piano!!! Wow! J It was a fun night of popcorn and exchange student talk and also cheerleading...

Sunday: Rest day!!! But not for my host parents Marita and Arne who went out cross country skiing... J But Gustav and I where to lazy hence stayed home watched movie, went on computer, watched another movie, eat, good day it was J I needed it. Packed my bags for language camp and off to bed I went.

Monday, we’re driving we’re driving. Trees with snow on them everywhere! We finally got to Vimmerby (The home of poppy long-stockings) and got showed our rooms at this boarding school and met the other exchange students then soon after getting straight into the Swedish lessons. And turns out I had the worst Swedish teacher in the school according to one of the students... YaY!!!!....

Didnt get to sleep till 1am... J after watching Nick and Norahs infinite playlist and talking HEAPS!

Tuesday!!! Just realised there was no reason for those exclamation marks because Tuesday was fair bad... Got up at like half past 7 went had breakfast then straight to class... : | BORING! Boring ect...

Now I am pretty tired and just had a nanna nap and am gonna go see what the others are doing coz this has been quite a HUGE blog!!!! Sorry guys.

Well, we shall talk another time. I miss you. I love you.

Xoxo
